Immanuel is a family of God inviting people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, cultivating and empowering disciples beyond busy lifestyles into a meaningful service in the harvest field.
We are here to help you become more like Jesus at his invitation. Jesus invites you to come and see him, to come and follow him, to come and be with him, and to remain with him in faith and life. We invite you to join us in embracing the great invitations of Jesus that we might fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus! (Matthew 28:18-20).
Operation Barnabas is the LCMS’ network of care to our nation’s military members, families and veterans. We reach out to all branches of the military with a special emphasis on our Reserve members and their families.
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Ministry to the Armed Forces ministry began Operation Barnabas. in 2007. Through Operation Barnabas, together:
We provide care to reserve chaplains, their families and congregations, in the only program of its kind in the nation.
We provide training and guidance to local congregations to provide care and support to our military members, their families and veterans in our local communities.
Local congregations across America are providing care and support to military members, their families and veterans who have borne the burden of our nation’s battles.
More than 2 million military members have deployed since Sept. 11, 2001. Of that 2 million, more than 860,000 have been from our Reserve community — many living far from a military base and the support services offered there. More than 6,000 have made the ultimate sacrifice, which means there are more than 6,000 families who have lost a loved one. We invite you to help us to help them and share the love of Christ.
Your gifts for LCMS' Ministry to the Armed Forces’ Operation Barnabas provide a constant resource of funds that can instantly be made available to help extend our network of care and the love of Christ to military members, families and veterans.
